After I wrote about my ALS illness in my post “My very Serious Progressive Nerve Condition“, I decided to make all 2 – 3 weeks a short update about my condition.

I want to do this for a few reasons.

I got so many empowering e-mails and messages. Many messages included experience reports from other people with ALS or very interesting ideas about additional treatment. Thank you for being so supportive.
My way of fighting this illness is to do it in public. Maybe this helps to intensify research into nervous diseases.
Many people fight a similar fight, such as me. You are not alone.

I recognized that the most important part of fighting such a depressing illness is to have a strong family. I’m totally grateful for my wife Beatrix, my daughter Juliette, and my son Marius.

Furthermore, I can hardly walk anymore, but my voice is not affected, and I can use my keyboard. So, I’m still happy to give classes, do my mentoring, and give online presentations.
